Problem

Decision Insite provides professional services to public school districts, primarily enrollment projections. The client required a web based tool that they could use to accurately produce the projections based on historic enrollment, and live birth and various other demographic trends. Their vision of the application centered on a unified map-based interface that would provide a consistent and intuitive view of the various data throughout the application.

Solution

Innovaworks selected the Map Suite .NET mapping component (http://thinkgeo.com) to provide this interface and set about the task of building the complex relationships between the Census Bureau's demographic data, the Department of Health's live birth data, and the various school districts' historic enrollment data. Laser accurate projections displayed to school officials and board members on intuitive maps of their respective districts resulted. No client of Decision Insite's need install anything. Districts provide their enrollment files, and DI provides results. Those results are within one percent of actual enrollment for the first predicted year for every client to date.
